Relax, its just a dance

The extreme response to Miley Cyrus "twerking" on crooner Robin Thick reminds me of the historical colonial reaction to the native dances of the Polynesian and of Africa. It seems that whenever a dance involving the hips is discovered a very puritan response emerges.  Think Elvis.

I'd like to remind people that Caribbeans have been dancing similarly for decades. Parents still parent and children still go to school in the islands. Families, neighborhoods, and societies have not crumbled. So keep calm and dance on.
